We’re Supporting the NHS with Games for Carers

We are proud to support Ukie’s Games for Carers initiative (in association with Keymailer). The initiative aims to give free video games to NHS workers throughout the UK. So far over 85,000 digital game codes have been donated by more than 85 video game developers and publishers. We have donated over 250 copies of Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. If you, or anyone you know, work for the NHS go and grab a free video game from here.

WHAT IS GAMES FOR CARERS?

Games for Carers is intended as a massive thank you to all NHS staff for their continued bravery and hard work in this time of crisis. We hope these games will help give NHS workers a little bit of joy in their down-time. Developers and publishers of all sizes are donating games. From industry giants like Konami and SEGA, to big indie publishers like Team 17 and Devolver Digital, to smaller indie studios like Huey Games and Ourselves, Bare Knuckle Development. There are games in loads of genres that are available on most platforms; PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Steam, and mobile. There truly is something for everyone.

STAY HOME, STAY SAFE, PLAY GAMES!

Games for Carers has been getting a lot of support from the media including BBC News and the Evening Standard. During the coronavirus pandemic the video game industry has been pushing the government’s “stay home and saves lives” message. We have tried to do our bit by hosting various giveaways including our 100 game code lockdown Space Blaster giveaway. We are also launching a high-score challenge with some cool prizes for Space Blaster players in May. Everyone with a copy of the game can join in. We hope it will be fun and a nice distraction from lockdown. We sincerely thank our fantastic NHS workers and all key workers for everything that they are doing. Stay safe, stay home, play games!
