Space Blaster v2.0 is Here!

Super Mega Space Blaster Special’s v2.0 update launches today and it’s got loads of new content. We’ve listened to player feedback, fixed a few bugs, and added some things that didn’t quite make the first build. So what’s new?

So many players have told us they love the handling of the first space blaster, Nibula but they want more fire power. We’ve added a souped-up version of Nibula with a twin-turret, a front cannon, and a bigger fuel-tank called Nibula+. The new ship costs 30 credits to unlock and has become my go-to ship for score chasing.

Loads of players have asked for the removal of the lethal screen edges. Well now you can do it for a small in-game fee. In the shop you can use your credits to unlock a warp engine which removes the lethal edges and allows you to warp from screen-edge to screen-edge like in Asteroids. We’ve also made it so the warp engine can be turned on and off after it is unlocked to allow players to go back to the lethal edges if they wish.

In the shop you can also unlock a mini-shop. The mini-shop appears just before you start a game and allows you to purchase an extra big-bomb, shield, or protectors to start the game with. Each item only costs 2 credits and starting a game with all 3 perks really does give score-chasers an advantage.

We’ve also improved the starting splash screen, added a saving symbol, and improved a few of the textures. With all these additions there is no better time to grab a copy of Super Mega Space Blaster Special and start blasting those spaceships and chasing high scores.
