The Last Pilot – Special Weapons

I’ve been working away like a maniac on our metroidvania action-RPG The Flawless: Art’s Tale throughout the week but in the evenings I’ve taken a break and done a bit of work on the special weapons for our other video game The Last Pilot.

The Last Pilot is a cyberpunk sh’mup/top-down-shooter hybrid where military cats fly planes and shoot massive guns. It’s full of glowy effects and big explosions. We’ve been showing some screenshots of the sh’mup part of the game. Where the player takes control of the last pilot, Moon, and his gunner, Raith, as they fly a nuclear powerhouse of a plane called ‘The Weapon’ in an attempt to blow the enemy out of the sky and save the feline world. The top-down-shooter element is not ready to show yet but watch this space. Every plane needs some special weapons right? Some powerful guns or missiles that can be used tactically or as a last resort to get out of a tight spot. Well The Weapon has seven such weapons and we’re going to have a gander at four of them in this article. To fire the weapons you need to get a large enough hit combo, then press the trigger and boom!

Flawless Art’s Walk Cycle

I’ve been busy working away on our new hero Art’s walk cycle for our action-RPG The Flawless: Art’s Tale (TFAT).

I think his walk cycle is coming on pretty well. The art-style has improved; still inspired by kids drawings and in monochrome but more detailed. I’ve tried to give him a bit of a stomp and think his cat hood looks pretty cute. He’s carrying a very basic sword which will be upgradable in the game. I’ve been working on loads of different swords each with special perks which I’ll show you guys soon.

The Flawless is on its Way

After a long stint working on a number of projects for other studios and developing a few prototypes for future projects we are back to building our action-RPG ‘The Flawless: Art’s Tale’ from its prototype. Everything from the art-style to the gameplay has been refined and improved from play tester feedback and we’ll be letting you have a look and visit the Flawless world very soon.

Game Jam Times and New Flawless Art

The Flawless’ new art style is really taking shape, the game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show you. In the mean time why not grab our funny little game jam game Strong and Stable Leader for free.

For the past few months we’ve been redesigning The Flawless: Art’s Tale from the ground up after feedback from our prototype build. The new art style is still not ready to show you but it is really coming along. With the new art style the main character Art has also needed some redesign and is looking better than ever. To find out more about the bigger projects we’re working on have a gander at this article.

The Last Pilot is Coming

We are pleased to announce that our new video game, The Last Pilot, will be coming to PCs, Macs and console at some point in the future.

The Last Pilot is a cyberpunk shmup/top-down-shooter hybrid set in the same world of cats as our sidescrolling Action-RPG The Flawless: Art’s Tale. The game is a pre-apocalyptic prequel to The Flawless and will shine light on the events that led to the brutal Flawless world. The game is being created alongside The Flawless: Art’s Tale and will be released afterwards. A mini version of The Last Pilot may feature in The Flawless as a mini-game in the arcade but this is yet to be confirmed.

Maybot Run Out Now and On the BBC

The political satirical endless runner we made with Bloodline Games Ltd is finally out on Steam,  & Itch.io. and has been featured on BBC Sunday Politics.

In Maybot Run you play as the British prime minister as she attempts to run, shoot, jump, and slide her way to dystopia. The game is tongue in cheek and filled with some ridiculous moments; from homeless-missiles, to brown Brexit bottoms, to Maggy Thatcher ridding in a dragster coffin there’s plenty to laugh at.

From Flawless to Maybot Run to VR & Beyond

The prototype for The Flawless: Art’s Tale has been complete for a while now. We’ve been busy grafting away on other projects. A hilarious political infinite runner, a cyberpunk 2d shooter, and a dystopian VR game. Here’s how things are progressing.

We finished our prototype build of our sidescrolling RPG adventure indie game, The Flawless: Art’s Tale a while ago. We recently tested it with a small group of friends and developers and the reaction was great. The prototype section of the game plays well and the gameplay feels quite unique but there are a few thing we’ll need to work on. The story is epic and should fuel a game that requires loads of exploration and allows for lots of dynamic plot changing choices. All that said we have not been working on The Flawless for some time now. We’ve been hectic moving country and grafting away on a few other games for other studios as well as a few prototypes for future games.

Indie Game Progress: The Flawless Art’s Tale

We’ve been really busy working on the prototype build of The Flawless: Art’s Tale. Here’s a quick update on the progress.

This is just a quick post to update everyone on our progress on our indie game The Flawless: Art’s Tale. The game has come on leaps and bounds and we now have a pretty much working prototype of both the sidescrolling element and the turn based battle element. The gameplay needs some testing and streaming but it feels good to explore the game world shooting down the robot baddies and then teleporting into turn based battles with more intelligent living baddies. This mechanic is quite unique and will allow for some interesting boss battle, taking out the robotic armour via fast paced, quick trigger finger shooting actions and then jumping into a strategic battle with the intelligent being wearing the armour.
