The Last Pilot – Special Weapons

I’ve been working away like a maniac on our metroidvania action-RPG The Flawless: Art’s Tale throughout the week but in the evenings I’ve taken a break and done a bit of work on the special weapons for our other video game The Last Pilot.

The Last Pilot is a cyberpunk sh’mup/top-down-shooter hybrid where military cats fly planes and shoot massive guns. It’s full of glowy effects and big explosions. We’ve been showing some screenshots of the sh’mup part of the game. Where the player takes control of the last pilot, Moon, and his gunner, Raith, as they fly a nuclear powerhouse of a plane called ‘The Weapon’ in an attempt to blow the enemy out of the sky and save the feline world. The top-down-shooter element is not ready to show yet but watch this space.¬†Every plane needs some special weapons right? Some powerful guns or missiles that can be used tactically or as a last resort to get out of a tight spot. Well The Weapon has seven such weapons and we’re going to have a gander at four of them in this article. To fire the weapons you need to get a large enough hit combo, then press the trigger and boom!

Indie Game Progress: The Flawless Art’s Tale

We’ve been really busy working on the prototype build of The Flawless: Art’s Tale. Here’s a quick update on the progress.

This is just a quick post to update everyone on our progress on our indie game The Flawless: Art’s Tale. The game has come on leaps and bounds and we now have a pretty much working prototype of both the sidescrolling element and the turn based battle element. The gameplay needs some testing and streaming but it feels good to explore the game world shooting down the robot baddies and then teleporting into turn based battles with more intelligent living baddies. This mechanic is quite unique and will allow for some interesting boss battle, taking out the robotic armour via fast paced, quick trigger finger shooting actions and then jumping into a strategic battle with the intelligent being wearing the armour.
